The Coach House

Having beautifully designed and built their garden, Giles and Debs approached me to design a Planting Plan for the garden. They wanted a modern, cottage garden planting style, with a varied range of plants and trees to bring colour and interest into the space. It was important to provide year-round interest in the garden as the converted barn wraps around the secluded, elevated south facing garden, which can be seen from the beautiful double storey windows across the back of the property.

The final design included several beautiful trees and shrubs to add vertical interest, perennials for seasonal colour, evergreens for all year-round interest, all underplanted with bulbs to extend the flowering season. The planting was also chosen to be wildlife-friendly to attract native wildlife, such as birds, beneficial insects, and small mammals to the garden.

The Garden was planted towards the end of 2023 and I’m looking forward to seeing the garden become established and mature. More photos to follow very soon.

The above photo’s were taken in the spring of 2024 with the tulips taking centre stage.
